The short version

Looking after a pet is something everyone in a household does, so Paw Crew has to work for everyone in the household. We build the app and pawcrew.app to work with VoiceOver, Dynamic Type, Reduce Motion and the other accessibility settings on your devices, and we aim for WCAG 2.2 level AA on the website. We have not finished, and the gaps we know about are listed below. If something gets in your way, email support@pawcrew.app. A person reads every message, and we reply as quickly as we can.

1. Our commitment

Kallos Labs LLC aims for pawcrew.app to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, level AA, and applies the same standard, as far as it translates, to the Paw Crew app for iPhone, together with Apple’s Human Interface Guidelines for accessibility.

Accessibility is part of how Paw Crew is designed and built, not a pass at the end. It is checked when things change, and it is part of the test plan for every release.

2. The app

The Paw Crew app is built with Apple’s own SwiftUI controls wherever it can, so it inherits the accessibility behaviour that iOS provides. On top of that:

• VoiceOver. Every button, pet illustration and icon has a spoken label. Each entry on the Day Ledger is read as one sentence: what was done, for which pet, when and by whom. The pet switcher is read as a single control that names the selected pet and how to choose another. The first run tour is read as a sequence of steps, and focus moves to the part of the screen each step is about.
• Dynamic Type. Text follows your chosen text size, up to the largest accessibility sizes. Layouts are measured rather than fixed: when the pet tabs no longer fit at a large size, they turn into a single menu instead of truncating names. The Large Content Viewer works on the tab bar.
• Reduce Motion. Animations, including the tour’s spotlight, are replaced by simple fades when Reduce Motion is on.
• Reduce Transparency and Increase Contrast. The glass tab bar and controls use the system’s own materials, which switch to solid, higher contrast versions when these settings are on. The contrast tests cover Increase Contrast; Reduce Transparency is still to be checked on a device (section 5).
• Contrast. Every theme, Cloud Ink, Mint Press and Rose Quartz, in light and dark, is checked so that text meets a contrast ratio of at least 4.5 to 1. The check is an automated test over the colour tokens, so a new colour cannot quietly fail it.
• Colour is never the only signal. Each pet has its own ink colour and each kind of log has its own colour, but every entry also carries the pet’s name, an icon and words, so the Day Ledger reads the same without colour.
• Siri, Shortcuts and widgets. Common actions, such as logging a feeding, can be done by voice with Siri or from a widget, without opening the app.
• Notifications. Reminders are standard iOS notifications, so they work with VoiceOver, announcements, and the actions to mark done or snooze.

3. The website

Work done on pawcrew.app so far:

• The page language and direction are declared, and each page uses a real heading structure, with one main heading, so screen readers can move by heading. The legal pages have a table of contents built from those headings.
• A “Skip to content” link is the first thing a keyboard reaches on every page.
• Every interactive element shows a visible focus indicator, and everything can be reached and used with a keyboard.
• Animation and transitions are switched off when your device asks for reduced motion.
• The site uses your system’s text settings and scales with browser zoom up to 200 percent without losing content. Text wraps rather than being cut off, and layouts are built to hold longer translations and right to left languages.
• Colours come from the same tokens as the app, in light and dark, with text contrast checked against WCAG AA.
• Images that carry meaning have text alternatives; decorative ones are hidden from screen readers.
• The cookie banner offers “Yes, count it” and “No thanks” with equal weight, is labelled for screen readers and does not trap focus. Nothing on the site depends on analytics, so rejecting cookies never breaks a page.

4. Known limitations

We would rather tell you what does not work yet than claim it all does.

• No full device audit yet. Paw Crew has not launched. The checks in section 5 are automated tests and our own review during development. A full pass with VoiceOver, Voice Control and Switch Control on a device, and a screen reader pass on the website, have not been done yet. We will record them in section 5 when they are.
• Photos and documents you add have no text description unless you add a note. VoiceOver can describe some images using Apple’s own image descriptions.
• Exports. The PDF vet report is not a tagged PDF, so a screen reader may not read its headings and tables in order. The CSV and JSON exports are plain data that any screen reader or spreadsheet can read.
• Charts. In the weight chart, VoiceOver reads each point as a date and a weight. The chart uses Apple’s Swift Charts, which offers iOS’s Audio Graphs, but we have not yet tested the audio graph on a device.
• Languages. The app and the website are in English and 24 other languages, translated by machine and awaiting review by native speakers. The policies, this statement included, are in English only for now.
• Older iOS versions. Paw Crew needs a recent version of iOS, and some accessibility behaviour depends on the system version.

5. Testing and results

6. Feedback and help

Step-by-step help for using Paw Crew with each iOS accessibility setting is on the accessibility help page.

If you cannot do something in Paw Crew or on pawcrew.app, or you have an idea that would make it easier, please tell us:

• Email: support@pawcrew.app, with “Accessibility” in the subject if you can.
• What helps us: what you were trying to do, the device and iOS or browser version, and the assistive technology you use. You never need to tell us about a disability.

A person reads every message, and we reply as quickly as we can. We aim to fix a barrier in the next release that can include it. If we cannot fix it quickly, we will help you find another way to do the task, and tell you when a fix is ready.

If you are not happy with our response, you can contact the accessibility or consumer authority where you live.

7. About this statement

This statement covers the Paw Crew app for iPhone and the website pawcrew.app, both published by Kallos Labs LLC, 1209 Mountain Road Pl NE, Ste R, Albuquerque, NM 87110, USA. It was prepared on 27 October 2026, based on our own review during development, and is reviewed at least once a year and after any major release.
