The short version
Paw Crew is an iPhone app that helps a household keep a shared log of looking after its pets, with reminders and a record you can show your vet. There is no account with us and no server of ours: what you log stays on your devices and in your own iCloud. Paw Crew Pro is a one-time purchase through Apple, with no subscription. The app logs and reminds; it is not a vet. Be fair to the people you share a household with. Disputes go to individual arbitration in New Mexico unless you opt out or the law where you live says otherwise (section 16). If you do not accept these terms, do not use the app or the website.
The short version is a summary. The numbered sections below are the agreement.
1. Who you are agreeing with
These terms are between you and Kallos Labs LLC (“we”, “us”, “our”), the publisher of the Paw Crew app for iPhone (“the app”) and the owner of pawcrew.app (“the website”). Together, the app and the website are “Paw Crew”.
Registered address: 1209 Mountain Road Pl NE, Ste R, Albuquerque, NM 87110, USA.
Contact: support@pawcrew.app. Privacy requests: privacy@pawcrew.app.
By downloading, installing or using the app, or by using the website, you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, do not download, install or use the app, and do not use the website.
These documents form part of these terms:
- the privacy policy;
- the purchase terms, if you buy Paw Crew Pro;
- the veterinary disclaimer;
- the acceptable use policy;
- the cookie policy, for the website.
If one of those documents says something more specific than these terms about its own subject, the more specific document applies to that subject.
The versions published at pawcrew.app are the current, canonical versions. The app links to them directly, so what you read from the app and what you read here are the same text.
2. Who can use Paw Crew
You must be at least 18 years old and able to form a binding contract to accept these terms. Paw Crew is a household app, and a younger person may use it only with a parent or guardian who accepts these terms for them: for example, it is fine for children to log a walk or a feeding on a family device, or as a member of a household share, under the supervision of the adult who set it up. That adult is responsible for their use of it.
The app has no account with us and asks you for no personal details, so we do not collect anyone’s age, including a child’s. The privacy policy explains what that means in detail.
You may not use Paw Crew if you are barred from doing so under the laws of the United States or any other country that applies to you.
3. What Paw Crew is
Paw Crew is a care log and reminder tool for pets. With it you can:
- add your pets and keep a profile for each one;
- log what was done and by whom, such as feeding, walks, water, medication, grooming and litter, on one ruled page per pet per day, the Day Ledger;
- see what is done, what is next and what is still to come, with the Now line marking the present moment;
- set reminders that arrive as notifications on your own devices;
- keep records such as vaccine due dates, weight and vet contacts;
- share one pet or all your pets with the people you live with, or a pet sitter, through iCloud sharing, so everyone sees the same log, and get household notifications when someone logs or a routine item is not logged yet;
- log Observations, things you notice about a pet, kept as you wrote them;
- track supplies such as food and litter, with an estimate of the days left;
- make a lost-pet poster and pocket card on your device;
- follow a walk timer and a next dose countdown as Live Activities;
- see care streaks, milestones and birthday cards, and find pets and contacts in Spotlight search;
- log and handle reminders from the Apple Watch app, and use Paw Crew on iPad;
- with Paw Crew Pro, use the extra features described on the pricing page and in the purchase terms, such as the PDF vet report and export, the documents and photo journal, sitter handoff and vet expenses.
Paw Crew runs on iPhone and iPad, with a companion app for Apple Watch. Features change as the app develops, and the website describes the current version.
Paw Crew is a record keeping tool. That is the whole of what it claims to be.
4. Paw Crew is not a vet
This matters, so it is its own section. The full veterinary disclaimer is part of these terms.
Paw Crew doesn’t provide veterinary advice. Always consult your vet.
In particular:
- The app records what you tell it. It does not assess your pet, it does not suggest a medicine, a dose or a treatment, and it does not tell you whether your pet is well or unwell.
- A medication entry is free text that you write. The app does no dose calculation and does not check what you enter against anything.
- A reminder is a notification on your phone. It is a convenience, not a safeguard. Reminders can be late, or not arrive at all, for reasons outside our control, such as a phone that is switched off, a notification permission that was turned off, Focus modes, low power settings or limits in iOS. Do not rely on Paw Crew as the only way to remember a medication or treatment that matters to your pet’s health.
- Paw Crew is not an emergency service. If your pet may be ill, injured or in danger, contact your vet or an emergency vet straight away.
A report or export you make from the app is a copy of your own log. It is not a veterinary record unless your vet chooses to treat it as one.
5. Your data and your content
Your content means everything you put into Paw Crew: your pets’ names, profiles and photos, log entries, notes, reminders, records, documents, contacts and anything else you type, attach or import.
- It is yours. You own your content. We claim no rights over it.
- We do not have it. Your content is stored on your devices and, if you use iCloud, in your own iCloud account, in Apple’s CloudKit private database. We have no server that stores it, we cannot read it, and we cannot recover it for you. The privacy policy sets out exactly what happens to it.
- You are responsible for it. You are responsible for what you put in the app, for having the right to put it there (for example, a photo someone else took), and for keeping a backup if it matters to you. If you delete the app without iCloud, delete your data, lose your device or restore a device without a backup, your content may be gone for good. We have no copy.
- Deleting it is in your hands. “Delete all data” in Settings removes your local data, your iCloud data for Paw Crew, and the shares you own. The delete your data page explains each step.
- Permission to make the app work. You give us only the permission the app needs to process your content on your own devices and in your iCloud account, so that it can show your content to you and to the people you share it with. That permission ends when you delete the content. Because the processing happens on your devices and in Apple’s services, not on ours, this permission gives us no access to your content.
Apple provides iCloud under its own terms. Your use of iCloud, including its storage limits and availability, is between you and Apple.
6. Household sharing
Household sharing lets you invite other people to see and add to the log for the pets you share. It works through iCloud sharing. There is no account with us, for you or for them.
Household sharing is part of the app from launch, free for everyone. This section applies whenever you share pets or accept an invitation.
How it works.
- The person who shares a pet is its owner for sharing purposes. The pet’s data lives in the owner’s iCloud, and the people they invite are participants.
- The owner can share one pet or all of their pets, and can let each participant log or make them view only.
- Participants can see the shared pets and their logs, and, unless they are view only, can add and change entries, as iCloud sharing and the app allow. A view-only participant cannot log anywhere in Paw Crew, including with Siri, Shortcuts, widgets, notification actions and the Apple Watch. Each entry records who logged it, using the name the participant’s device provides, which the owner can change for display inside the household.
- The owner can remove a participant, or stop sharing, at any time. A participant can leave a share at any time.
- Sitter invites. With Paw Crew Pro, the owner can invite a sitter through Apple’s sharing screen with a last day. The owner’s app removes the sitter after that day, the next time it runs, including in the background, so access can last a little past the last day. Remove the sitter yourself if you need it to end at once. A sitter sheet you print or send is outside the app’s control once it is sent.
- Household notifications. Each person chooses what they hear about. A notification or a “not logged yet” nudge depends on iCloud, Apple’s push service and each person’s iPhone settings, so it can arrive late or not at all. Do not rely on it alone for anything critical, such as medication.
- When an owner stops sharing or deletes their data, participants lose access to the shared pets. When a participant leaves, the owner keeps the pets and the log, including the entries that participant made.
What you agree to when you share.
- Invite only people you mean to invite. Anyone who has the share can see everything in the shared pets, including notes, photos, Observations, documents and the names of the people who logged each entry. Think before you include anything you would not want a participant to see.
- Respect other people’s entries. Do not deliberately delete, falsify or change another person’s entries to mislead the household, for example to make it look as if a pet was fed or given medication when it was not.
- Respect other people’s information. The names, contact details and photos of other people, such as a vet, a sitter or a household member, are theirs. Only add them where you have a good reason, and remove them when asked.
- Do not use sharing to harass, monitor or control anyone. Household sharing is for looking after pets together. It is not for watching what a person does or where they are. The walk timer records duration, never location, and household notifications are for care tasks, not for keeping watch on someone.
- End access when the job ends. Remove a sitter, a former housemate or anyone else who no longer cares for the pets.
- Sort out disagreements yourselves. We cannot see your shares, so we cannot settle a dispute inside a household, restore an entry someone deleted, or tell you who changed what beyond what the app shows.
The acceptable use policy sets out these rules in full.
7. Paw Crew Pro and other purchases
Paw Crew is free to download, and the free version is a complete care log. Paw Crew Pro unlocks extra features for a single, one-time payment. There are no subscriptions.
- Price. Paw Crew Pro costs $7.99 in the United States. Prices in other countries are set through Apple and may differ. The App Store shows you the exact price, in your currency and including any tax it collects, before you confirm.
- One-time. You pay once. There is no renewal, no recurring charge and no plan to cancel.
- Bought through Apple. Every purchase is made through Apple’s in-app purchase system. Apple takes the payment, and Apple’s terms apply to it. We never see your payment details.
- Restore Purchases. If you reinstall the app or get a new device, use Restore Purchases in Settings, signed in with the same Apple Account, to get Paw Crew Pro back at no extra cost.
- Family Sharing. Paw Crew Pro supports Apple’s Family Sharing. If you have set up Family Sharing, members of your family group can use Pro on their own devices, according to Apple’s rules for Family Sharing. Household sharing in the app and Family Sharing in Apple’s settings are different things: someone can be in your household share without being in your Apple family group, and only the family group shares the purchase.
- Refunds. Refunds are handled by Apple under Apple’s policies, through reportaproblem.apple.com or Apple Support. We cannot issue a refund for an App Store purchase ourselves, but we are happy to help you with the request.
- Optional tips. The app offers optional tips. A tip is a voluntary, one-time payment through Apple that unlocks nothing. Refunds for tips are also handled by Apple.
- No ads. There are no ads in the app, free or Pro.
The full rules, including your statutory rights, are in the purchase terms, which are part of these terms.
8. Your licence to use the app
The app is licensed, not sold, to you.
We grant you a limited, non exclusive, non transferable, revocable licence to download, install and use the app on any Apple branded device that you own or control, as permitted by the Usage Rules in the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions (“the Usage Rules”), for personal use or for your work, including by a business such as a kennel, a groomer, a pet sitter or a rescue. The app may be accessed and used by other accounts associated with you through Family Sharing or volume purchasing, as the Usage Rules allow.
Paw Crew Pro features are licensed to you on the same basis, for as long as you hold the purchase.
You may not, and you may not help anyone else to:
- rent, lease, lend, sell, redistribute or sublicense the app;
- copy, decompile, reverse engineer, disassemble, attempt to derive the source code of, modify or create derivative works of the app or any part of it, except as and only to the extent that applicable law, or the licence terms of any open source component included in the app, expressly permits it;
- get around the in-app purchase, or any technical limit in the app;
- remove or alter any notice of ownership in the app.
If you breach this licence, it ends automatically.
We keep every other right. The app, the name Paw Crew, the paw mark, the illustrations, the written copy, the themes and the design are ours or are licensed to us. The open source components and assets that the app and the website use are listed on the acknowledgements page, with their licences. Where an open source licence grants you rights in a component, that licence governs the component.
9. Apple’s terms, which also apply to you
You get the app from the Apple App Store. Apple requires these terms to include the following, and they apply to you and to us.
9.1 These terms are between you and us. You and we acknowledge that these terms are between you and Kallos Labs LLC only, and not with Apple Inc. or its subsidiaries (“Apple”). We, not Apple, are solely responsible for the app and its content. These terms may not provide for usage rules that conflict with the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions as of the date you accept them. Where they do, Apple’s terms prevail on that point.
9.2 Scope of licence. The licence in section 8 is limited to a non transferable licence to use the app on Apple branded products that you own or control, as permitted by the Usage Rules.
9.3 Maintenance and support. We are solely responsible for providing any maintenance and support for the app, as set out in these terms or as required by applicable law. Support is at support@pawcrew.app and on the support page. You and we acknowledge that Apple has no obligation whatsoever to provide any maintenance or support services for the app.
9.4 Warranty. We are solely responsible for any product warranties, whether express or implied by law, to the extent they are not effectively disclaimed. If the app fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price of the app (if any) to you. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Apple will have no other warranty obligation whatsoever with respect to the app, and any other claims, losses, liabilities, damages, costs or expenses attributable to any failure to conform to any warranty will be our sole responsibility, subject to sections 12 and 13.
9.5 Product claims. You and we acknowledge that we, not Apple, are responsible for addressing any claims by you or any third party relating to the app or your possession and use of it, including: (a) product liability claims; (b) any claim that the app fails to conform to any applicable legal or regulatory requirement; and (c) claims arising under consumer protection, privacy or similar legislation. These terms do not limit our liability to you beyond what is permitted by applicable law.
9.6 Intellectual property claims. If a third party claims that the app, or your possession and use of it, infringes that third party’s intellectual property rights, we, not Apple, are solely responsible for the investigation, defence, settlement and discharge of that claim.
9.7 Legal compliance. You represent and warrant that (a) you are not located in a country that is subject to a United States Government embargo, or that has been designated by the United States Government as a “terrorist supporting” country; and (b) you are not listed on any United States Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
9.8 Developer name and address. Questions, complaints or claims about the app go to us: Kallos Labs LLC, 1209 Mountain Road Pl NE, Ste R, Albuquerque, NM 87110, USA, support@pawcrew.app.
9.9 Third-party terms. You must comply with any applicable third-party terms of agreement when you use the app. For example, using iCloud and household sharing requires you to be in compliance with your agreement with Apple for iCloud, and using the app on a mobile network is subject to your agreement with your network provider.
9.10 Apple as third-party beneficiary. You and we acknowledge and agree that Apple, and Apple’s subsidiaries, are third-party beneficiaries of these terms, and that, once you accept these terms, Apple will have the right (and will be deemed to have accepted the right) to enforce these terms against you as a third-party beneficiary.
On the App Store, the app is licensed under Apple’s standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement (Apple’s standard EULA). These terms add to it. If the two conflict on something Apple’s agreement covers, Apple’s agreement wins.
10. Using the website
The website tells you about the app and publishes guides. When you use it:
- Guides are general information. They are written with care, but they are not veterinary, medical or legal advice, they are not tailored to your pet, and they may be out of date by the time you read them. See the veterinary disclaimer.
- Links to other websites are there for convenience. We do not control those sites, we are not responsible for their content or their privacy practices, and a link is not an endorsement.
- Our content is ours. The text, guides, images, illustrations, logos and design of the website are owned by us or licensed to us. You may read them, link to them and share a link. You may not copy, republish or sell them without our written permission, except as the law allows (for example a short quotation with credit). The press page lists material you are welcome to use when writing about Paw Crew.
- Do not misuse it. Do not attack, probe, overload or scrape the website, or try to get around its security.
- Cookies. The website loads analytics only if you accept them. See the cookie policy.
We may change, suspend or remove any part of the website at any time.
11. Changes to Paw Crew and to these terms
We will keep improving Paw Crew, which means features change and occasionally go away. Three things will not change: you can always delete your data, there will be no ads, and Paw Crew Pro stays a one-time purchase with no subscription.
If we remove a Paw Crew Pro feature you paid for, we will try to replace it with something comparable, and nothing in this section limits your rights under the purchase terms or the law.
If we change these terms in a way that matters, we will update the date at the top, publish the new version here, and tell you in the app or in the release notes before the change takes effect. Continuing to use Paw Crew after that means you accept the change. If you do not, stop using the app. Nothing happens to your data when you stop, because we never had it.
12. Disclaimer of warranties
To the fullest extent the law allows, the app and the website are provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including any implied warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non infringement, accuracy, or uninterrupted availability.
In particular, we do not warrant that:
- the app will be free of errors or will work on every device or iOS version;
- a reminder will arrive, or arrive on time;
- iCloud sync or household sharing will be available, or will be instant;
- your data will survive a device failure, an iOS update, an iCloud problem or a restore;
- a guide on the website is complete or current.
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of implied warranties. Where that is the case, the exclusions above apply only as far as that law permits, and you may have rights that these terms do not affect. Nothing here limits your statutory consumer rights, including your rights for digital content that is faulty or not as described.
13. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, loss of profits, loss of goodwill, or harm to any animal, arising from your use of or inability to use the app or the website, including from a missed, late or wrong reminder, whether the claim is in contract, tort, negligence or anything else, and whether or not we were told the loss was possible.
Our total liability to you for all claims relating to Paw Crew together will not exceed the greater of US$50 or the amount you paid for Paw Crew Pro and any other in-app purchases in the 12 months before the claim arose.
We do not exclude or limit liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, for gross negligence or wilful misconduct where the law does not allow it, for your statutory consumer rights, or for anything else that cannot be limited by law. Where a jurisdiction limits these exclusions, our liability is limited to the fullest extent it allows.
14. Indemnity
To the extent the law allows, you agree to indemnify and hold Kallos Labs LLC harmless against any claim, loss or reasonable cost arising from your use of Paw Crew in breach of these terms or the acceptable use policy, from your breach of the law, or from your violation of someone else’s rights, including through content you share with a household. Where the law where you live does not allow this, for example for consumers in the EU and the UK, this section applies only as far as that law permits.
15. Ending this agreement
You can stop at any time by deleting the app. Use “Delete all data” in Settings first if you want your data removed from your iCloud and your shares ended too. Deleting the app from one device does not delete your iCloud data.
We can end your licence to use the app if you materially breach these terms, in particular section 6 (household sharing) or the acceptable use policy. Because Paw Crew has no account with us, the practical effect is that you are in breach and no longer permitted to use it. Where practicable, we will tell you first. Ending a licence for breach does not change how refunds work: they stay with Apple, as section 7 and the purchase terms explain, and your statutory rights are not affected.
Sections 4, 5, 9, 12, 13, 14, 16 and 17 survive the end of this agreement.
16. Governing law and disputes
Please read this section carefully: it affects your rights.
16.1 Governing law. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New Mexico, without regard to its conflict of laws rules, and subject to any mandatory consumer protection of the place where you live.
16.2 Talk to us first. Before bringing a claim, please write to support@pawcrew.app and give us 30 days to try to put things right. Most problems are solved that way.
16.3 Arbitration. Except for claims that qualify for small claims court, and where the law does not prohibit it, any dispute arising out of or relating to these terms or Paw Crew that we cannot resolve informally will be settled by binding individual arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association (AAA) under its Consumer Arbitration Rules, in Albuquerque, New Mexico, or by video or phone at your option, rather than in court.
16.4 No class actions and no jury. You and Kallos Labs LLC each waive the right to a jury trial and to take part in a class action or representative proceeding. If this waiver is found unenforceable for a particular claim, section 16.3 does not apply to that claim.
16.5 Opting out. You can opt out of sections 16.3 and 16.4 by emailing support@pawcrew.app within 30 days of first accepting these terms. Opting out does not affect anything else in these terms.
16.6 Courts. Any claim that is not subject to arbitration will be brought exclusively in the state and federal courts located in Albuquerque, Bernalillo County, New Mexico.
16.7 Time limit. To the extent the law allows, a claim must be brought within one year after it arises.
16.8 Consumers in the EU, the UK and elsewhere. If you are a consumer in the European Union, the EEA, the United Kingdom or another jurisdiction that prohibits mandatory arbitration or class action waivers, or that gives you the protection of your local courts and mandatory consumer law, sections 16.3 to 16.7 do not apply to you as far as that law says so. You keep the right to bring proceedings in the courts where you live and to rely on the mandatory consumer protection law of your country of residence.
17. Odds and ends
- Entire agreement. These terms, together with the documents listed in section 1, are the whole agreement between us about Paw Crew.
- Severability. If a court finds part of these terms unenforceable, that part is enforced as far as the law allows and the rest still applies.
- No waiver. If we do not enforce something straight away, we have not given up the right to enforce it later.
- Assignment. You may not transfer your rights under these terms. We may transfer ours to a successor in a merger or a sale, subject to the privacy policy.
- Events outside our control. We are not responsible for a failure caused by something we cannot reasonably control, such as an outage at Apple, a change to iOS or a network failure.
- Language. These terms are written in English. A translation is provided for convenience, and if the two differ, the English version governs.
- Trademarks. Apple, iPhone, iCloud and Siri are trademarks of Apple Inc., registered in the U.S. and other countries. App Store is a service mark of Apple Inc. Paw Crew is not made, sponsored or endorsed by Apple.
