The short version
Paw Crew doesn’t provide veterinary advice. Always consult your vet.
Paw Crew logs and reminds. It keeps a record of what you and your household do for your pets and nudges you when something is due. It does not give advice on medicines, doses or treatment, it does not assess your pet’s health, and it is not an emergency service. Reminders can fail, so never rely on Paw Crew alone for a medication that matters. If you are worried about your pet, call your vet.
This disclaimer is part of the terms of use.
1. What Paw Crew does
Paw Crew is a care log and a reminder tool. It lets you and the people you share a household with:
- record what was done for a pet, when and by whom, such as a feeding, a walk, water, medication, grooming or a vet visit;
- see the day for each pet on the Day Ledger: what is done, what is next and what is still to come, with the Now line marking the present moment;
- set reminders that arrive as notifications on your devices;
- keep your own notes about vaccines, weight, medication courses, vet contacts and documents;
- log Observations, things you noticed about a pet, in your own words;
- track supplies, vet expenses and walks;
- make a report or export of your own records to take to your vet.
Everything Paw Crew shows you comes from what you or the people in your household entered. It is your record, in your words.
2. What Paw Crew does not do
Paw Crew is not veterinary advice and is not a substitute for it. In particular, Paw Crew does not:
- give advice. Nothing in the app or on pawcrew.app is veterinary, medical or professional advice, and nothing is tailored to your pet.
- suggest or check doses. A medication entry is free text that you write. The app does no dose calculation, does not check a dose against your pet’s weight, species or age, and does not warn you about interactions or allergies. Give medication only as your vet has prescribed.
- assess your pet. The app does not say what is wrong with your pet, does not interpret a weight change, an Observation, a note or a missed meal, and does not tell you whether your pet is well or unwell. An Observation is shown exactly as it was written, and the app never scores or suggests anything about it. A trend or a count in the app is arithmetic on your own entries, not a judgement about health.
- decide when care is due. A vaccine due date, a medication course or a reminder in the app is one you set. The app does not know your pet’s real schedule unless you enter it correctly. Check due dates with your vet.
- replace your vet’s records. A report or export from Paw Crew is a copy of your own log. Your vet’s records are the ones that count.
- respond to emergencies. Paw Crew cannot call anyone, does not monitor your pet, and nobody at Kallos Labs LLC sees what you log.
3. Reminders can fail
Reminders in Paw Crew are local notifications scheduled on your own device by iOS. We work hard to make them reliable, including across time zones and daylight saving changes, but a reminder can be late, silent or missing for reasons outside our control, for example:
- your phone is switched off, out of battery, or restarting;
- notifications for Paw Crew are turned off, or were never allowed;
- a Focus mode, Do Not Disturb, Scheduled Summary or a silent ring switch hides or delays the alert;
- Low Power Mode, storage pressure or an iOS update affects scheduling;
- iOS limits how many notifications one app can schedule ahead of time, so a long or very frequent schedule may not be scheduled in full until you open the app again;
- the app was deleted, reinstalled or restored from a backup, and its reminders have not been set up again;
- the device’s date, time or time zone is wrong;
- in a shared household, someone else logged or changed the task, or the change had not yet synced through iCloud;
- a household notification or a “not logged yet” nudge depends on Apple’s push service reaching each iPhone, which iOS can delay, so it can arrive late or not at all.
A supply estimate (“runs out in about 5 days”) is arithmetic on the amounts you entered and logged. Check what is actually left before you rely on it, above all for medication.
Do not rely on Paw Crew as the only way to remember a medication or treatment that is critical to your pet’s health. For anything where a missed or doubled dose could cause harm, keep a second method: an alarm, a written chart on the fridge, a pill organiser, or a plan agreed with everyone in the household. If two people might give the same dose, agree who gives it.
4. Household sharing
In a shared household, the log is only as accurate as the people writing in it. An entry that says a pet was fed or given medication means someone tapped a button, not that it definitely happened. Entries can also take a moment to reach everyone through iCloud. When in doubt, ask the person who logged it before giving food or medication again. The check Paw Crew shows when two people log the same feeding within 30 minutes only helps if both feedings were logged.
5. In an emergency
If your pet may be ill, injured, poisoned or in danger, contact your vet or an emergency vet straight away. Do not wait to check the app, and do not use the app or this website to decide whether something is an emergency.
If your usual vet is closed, contact your nearest emergency or out of hours veterinary service. If you think your pet has eaten something poisonous, your vet or a pet poison helpline in your country can advise you.
It is worth saving the number of your vet and your nearest emergency vet in Paw Crew’s vet contacts and in your phone before you need them.
6. Guides and information on pawcrew.app
The guides and other articles on pawcrew.app are general information about organising pet care at home, such as sharing a routine or keeping records. They are written with care but they are not veterinary advice, they may not suit your pet, and they may be out of date by the time you read them. Where a guide mentions health, medication or diet, follow your vet’s advice instead.
Links to other websites are provided for convenience. We are not responsible for their content.
7. Your responsibility
You are responsible for your pet’s care and for the decisions you make about it. Paw Crew is a tool to help you keep track; it does not take on any part of that responsibility. The terms of use explain the limits of our liability, including for a reminder that does not arrive. Nothing in this disclaimer limits any right you have under the law that cannot be limited.
8. Contact
If anything in the app could be read as advice, or a reminder did not behave as you expected, please tell us at support@pawcrew.app so we can fix it.
